BP’s failure to control the Gulf oil-spill leading to severe environmental destruction of coastal habitat and marine life in the Gulf has shown that the technology we have today to combat such disasters is a long way away from warranting proper management of mishaps of this caliber. So what other means do we have or what alternatives should we look into to develop strategies that will prepare us for other accidents like this in future.
